In 2017, Dayana left Nicaragua where she attended Grand Valley State University and studied Public and Nonprofit Administration. While managing a full-course load, she kept her dream alive as she continued to provide for these kids from abroad. While working towards her degree, her family took over the day-to-day responsibilities of the feeding-center. Her mother, sisters, and nephew kept their home and hearts open as they served, while she managed the fundraising, finances, and oversight from abroad. Throughout this time, the program grew from serving 6 kids to 32.
After graduating, she made it her full-time ambition to honor the calling God had put on her life years ago. She turned down a paid position for a company she loved so that she could dedicate all of her time to this mission. This is how Nicaragua Generations International, or NGI was formed. With the love and support of her husband, Gavin, NGI was formally incorporated as a nonprofit. Through the support of their board of directors, family, staff, and volunteers, they work to ensure the future generations of Nicaragua come to know the love of Christ through every area in their lives.
